Ford Repair: Vibration in steering wheel. 94 Probe, cv joints, haynes manual

Question
My 94 Probe GT 95 (5 speed manual)vibrates the steering wheel between the speeds of 30-45 MPH only. The harder I accelerate through that range the more pronounced the shimmy. If I accelerate real slowly then no shimmy.I rotated the tires and no change.Tires are wearing fine. Haynes manual says either toe-in is out or CV joints.I called Ford and service writer said possibly the clutch or engine miss firing under load. (I don't buy that one because it doesn't shimmy under load at higher speeds. They said not CV's because I don't hear a clicking from the front end when turning. Any help would be appreciated.   Andy

Answer
Andy-

It really sounds like you just need a simple alignment.  Cars with bad alignments generally develop a vibration somewhere between 30-50mph and, if it gets worse, again around 65mph or so.  I'd just have it aligned...if that doesn't resolve the problem then I'd start looking at your front end suspension ocmponents.  Hope this helps.
