Ford Repair: alignment, steering rack, steering wheel

Question
My 1999 Mustang was in an accident recently. The front end took a hit and the lower control arm and strut needed replacing. I just got it back from the body shop and noticed that when I am pulling in staight to a parking spot and get out to look at the tires, one tire is straight and the other is slightly turned. However, the car tracks fine when I am on the highway. Won't this cause the tire that is crooked to wear unevenly? I also feel there is too much free play in the steering wheel when going straight.

Answer
Neil-

It sounds like your steering rack may have also been damaged in the collision.  You can try having it aligned but I'm willing to bet the steering rack or other associated parts like the tie rod will need to be replaced as well.  Hope this helps.
