Car Stereos: Car Cd Player, car cd player, pioneer deh

Question
Hello I have a Pioneer DEH-P3800MP cd player. I started my car, put the cd player face on and nothing happened. Nothing lit up on it. I checked the fuses in the deck, under the hood, in the car and even the amp. Every was fine. What could have happened?

Answer
Sorry, I'm not a repair technician but I first would check to make absolutely sure the faceplate is installed correctly.. I once had a client drive in 45 miles and came storming into the shop to rip me a new one because the deck I sold and installed wasn't working.. it turns out he put the faceplate in a bit cockeyed and it wasn't makign proper contact. It was a Pioneer deck too.
The only other thing I could suggest is bench testing the deck out of the car. At least then you'll know it's not a vehicle issue. Is it possible you had your car boosted (jump started) by a tow truck??? Sometimes those guys will actually "jolt" your car with 24 volts to get it to crank faster... usually a winter thing.. don't see that much in the summer.
