Ford Repair: oil burning or leaking, leak oil, ford explorer

Question
I have a 92 Ford Explorer. Recently I drove about 200 miles and lost about 5 quarts of oil. I did not see any smoking from the exhaust or any leaks on the ground when I parked.  Can you help me find where all this oil might went.
Thanks Thoms

Answer
if it doesnt seem to leak oil, fill it up, rev the engine to about 4000 rpm and check the engine and ground for oil.  If its only spraying out of the engine while driving this will be a good test.  It could be a front main or rear main seal thats leaking.
