Ford Repair: 90 ford 5.0, ford gt 40, roller rockers

Question
hey hows it going, i have a 90 f-150 w/5.0 and am tring to get every pony out of it. it's bored .030 completely rebuilt, JBA shorty hedders to folws, mustang injectors, and a SVO mass air conversion, K&N filter. its getting there but not quite yet. i would like to swap the intake with something more effecent. could i take a mustang intake,or anything else to wrap this project up. also curious about the roller arms 1.6 or 1.7 and is it worth it. if you can help i would be greatly appreciate it. Thanks ryan

Answer
Ryan-

The mass air kit is a great start...otherwise the computer wouldn't respond to mods.  As for the intake, a typical Mustang intake wouldn't work on your truck since the inlet faces the other way.  I believe there are some performance truck intakes out there, but the most readily available intake that'll work is the Ford GT-40 intake since it can be bolted on with the upper plenum facing either way (symetry is a beautiful thing).  It's a bit more expensive than most of the available Mustang intakes, but it's the simplest solution.  Plus it's just an all around good intake.  As for roller rockers...I honestly wouldn't go for them.  They just create the effect of a bigger cam.  It's better (in my opinion at least) to actually install a slightly larger cam.  That way you'll have the added effects of the different specs rather than just giving your stock cam a slight bump.  Hope this helps.
