Honda Repair: Oil Leak, valve cover gasket, crankshaft seal

Question
My dads civic has a real bad oil leak. We changed the crankshaft seal and it was fine for about a week and a half. Then it started to leak again. We changed the oil pump, but it's still leaking. What
else could be causing the oil leak? Please advise.

Answer
If you changed a seal and it stopped leaking, then later it started leaking again you have to question the integrity of that seal. If the seal wasn't installed correctly then it could have started leaking again.
Some other seals that can cause this type of leak are a camshaft seal leak, balance shaft seal leak or a valve cover gasket leak.
Also, the oil pan gasket can also cause pretty bad leaks.
I hope this helps.
