Honda Repair: shift cable 07 accord, shift cable, honda accord

my girlfriend has a 07 honda accord and it just started to get stuck in park i pumped the brake and it would shift i think it may be the shift cable ? but i dont want to start ripping apart her console if i dont have to could you think of anything else it may be

Here is a test that will help. Have someone step on the brakes and see if all of your brake lights are working. If they are not then the brake switch at the top of your brake pedal will need to be replaced. This is likely the cause of your problem.
It could also be the sift interlock solenoid.
