Honda Repair: 95 Civic dies when warm.., honda civic dx, 1995 honda civic dx

Question
My 1995 Honda Civic DX 1.5L SOHC L4 with 255xxx miles engine is dying after warming up. it's acting like it's running out of gas and will not restart and run until it's cooled down again. It finally restarts and will run fine until heating up again. I have replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter already thinking that might be the problem but it is still doing the same thing. i was wondering if you might be able to help me with this problem?

Answer
Jeff, I was going to suggest fuel pump and filter. GJ on replacing those. But, when did you replace those components last? It is not uncommon for an aftermarket fuel pump to fail after after 50k miles. Just because the factory unit lasted 100K+ the aftermarket unit is usually not a factory OEM component. Might be something to look into and at least be aware of.

In the generation of civic's before yours there was a problem that exactly describes your symptoms and was a result of a defective/malfunctioning main relay.

Start the car up again and have the vehicle fail. When it does it should throw a CEL (check engine light). Evaluate the CEL. If no CEL or just '1' flash on the CEL - then your ECU is defective and needs to be replaced (inexpensive). More than likely the situation here. The answer will reside within the CEL!
