Honda Repair: Substitution of LED lights, load resistor, honda odyssey

Question
I own a 2002 Honda Odyssey and the high mount bulb #921, is constantly
burning out every two or months.  I am considering substituting an LED
instead of the usual Sylvania long life bulb. Do I also need to purchase
and install a load resistor to prevent the "fast blinker" problem associated
with the low current drain of LED's?

Answer
Ed, - High Mount Stop Light Bulb Size: 921 - did some research with nearly no results. Guess it depends on how you drive the Honda Odyssey is what is determining the life of the bulb. Constant rush hour traffic, long commutes, 2 step drivers, etc. The bulb is getting overworked. I would definitely invest in an LED version of the bulb. Try it out and make sure that you can return the bulb if it doesn't illuminate enough or burns out prematurely. I would not worry about the resistor because the LED version is working with a 12V power supply and the company that is making these are geared towards automotive styling and customizing. Do some research online. I found a "stackable" or "tower" version of the '921' bulb that looked cool! Awesome features and true illumination 18 ways. Would be perfect for your Odyssey.
