Honda Repair: 99 CRV High RPM, throttle cable, floor mat

Hello out of no where, as soon as i crank up my 99 crv it starts right up at revs over 5k rpm, it practically starts of in the red..for no apparent reason, so i check the engine compartment thinking that maybe theres something blocking the airways but nothing there.. Please help i'm afraid the motors going to blow it won't ease up at all.

Help, that is just crazy! Inspect the throttle cable. Follow it from under the hood all the way to the gas pedal inside the vehicle. Look for anything that might be causing the pedal to stick wide open. Or impeding the travel. There has to be something making it stick wide open. Like the floor mat maybe? Also, the throttle cable could have broken internally and is stuck wide open.
