Honda Repair: 95 Accord EX, local shop, warp

Question
Hello,
My car has 161,000 miles with original front rotors.  They have a worn down to the point where they will not pass inspection.  Looking at the repair manual it looks like a involved job to replace the rotors by myself.  If there is enough meat on the rotors, can they be turned on the car?  Or are they likely to warp?
During light acceleration, barely on the gas I get pinging.  Increase the gas and pinging stops.  Any ideas?
Thanks for your help,
Eric

Answer
Question is,Have you ever had the rotors turned before? And if not go to local shop to have them look at them to have them resurfaced. I f they can be, then have it done to pass inspection, but soon in the future replace them, brand new they only cost about $25.00 each, let me know the results.
