Honda Repair: Honda Repair - Struts, camber kit, wheel alignment

Question
Hi,

I own a 99 Honda Civic and was wondering when do I need to replace my struts. How can I tell if they have gone bad?

I've noticed my car pulls slightly to the left side. When I changed my brake pads a few days ago, the left side was worn down more than the right. I'm assuming this is because of the car pulling to the left. Duh. My civic has 120k on it. I also noticed the ride of the vechicle seems a little bouncy at higher speeds. Is this indeed the struts fault?

When I got my wheel alignment done a month ago, they told me the camber was off and I needed a camber kit to fix it.  Is this indeed the struts fault possibly or would a camber kit fix the smoothness of the ride.

Thanks, Mark

Answer
No you dont need a camber kit at all. Has the car been lowered and by whom and with what springs. With a car of that age it has nothing to do with BAD STRUTS at all, whoever told you this should be shot. If it does need a camber kit do it yourself with a drill its so easy.. and the eveness of the brake pads has nothing to do with the angle or position of the wheels because the disk is always straight. And SLOW DOWN You dont have to go fast
