Honda Repair: 1994 Accord LX Speedometer/Electrical?, wheel vibration, cause vibration

Question
I have two problems I need help on.  The first problem is that my speedometer works intermittently.  When I am driving locally, it works occasionally.  When I drive on a long trip, it works most of the time.  Is this more likely to be a problem with the speed sensor than the speedometer?

The second problem has just started happening.  I replaced the rear brake pads about two weeks ago.  I took a long trip and noticed that when I put on brakes at high speed, I get virbation in the steering wheel.  Other than that I had no problems.  A couple of days ago, I was driving at highway speed and turned on my headlights.  The ABS warning light came on and my radio started cutting on and off.  When I came to a stop, the ABS light remained on.  I cut the car off and restarted it and everything was fine.  I have driven the car about 8 times since this happened and it has reoccurred once.  Do you think the electrical problem could have anything to do with my brake pad replacement?  Why am I getting vibration in the steering wheel since it was only the rear brake pads that were replaced?  (I would assume that if the rear rotors needed grinding that this wouldn't cause vibration in the steering wheel when braking)  Any idea what is happening?

Answer
Does the check engine light come on?  If it doesn't when the speedo quits then its the speedo head itself.  Common on that body style.  YOu will have to replace it.

Brake vibration usually happens when the wheels are not properly torqued.  Did you have any tire work done?  Steering wheel vibration is felt due to warped front rotors.  Electrical problem should be seperate from the brake pad replacement.  Dont hundreds of those never had that problem.  No idea about the electrical problem.  Any codes in the ABS computer?  Check by jumping two pin blue connector located under the glove box with a paper clip and turn the key on and count the flashes.
