Honda Repair: D4, check engine on accord 1994 EXI automatic, speed sensor, exi

Dr Sr Craig,
   Why do everytime i drive my accord this d4 blink every time and it does not stop and when my RPM gets to 4 or 5,000 check engine lights on and when it does i just turn it off and when i turn it on agian it just goes back to normal.. Some says its because of my speedometer co'z its not working... What can you say about it? thank and more power..;)

My first guess would be a bad speed sensor.  its located on the back side of the transmission directly below the throttle body.  If the odometer and speedo are inop and the check engine light and d4 light are on, that would be the first thing I would replace.  I would want to make sure that the check engine light code is a code 17 tbough.  That is the speed sensor code.
