Honda Repair: CVT Auto Trans, honda fitt, vibration damper

Question
2001 Honda Fitt 26539km Chassis# GDI-1092778 Tranz# SWRA-1094909 Engine# L13A.
The problem we have is a buzzing noise coming from the transmission, we have removed, disassembled and inspected the trans. we were unable to find any cause of the noise, all the bearings are smooth in their operation both clutches appear fine. The only thing I noticed was some side to side movement in the vibration damper or drive plate (which is riveted together). Should there be any play here and could this drive plate possibly be the cause of the noise? Thankyou and I look foward to your reply.

Answer
Ryan, Theres not much I can help you with on this issue. The reason is we've(Canada) only had CVT transmissions since 2003 in our Civic hybrids and 2000 in our Insights and I personally haven't had any concerns with them. All our Fits have a manual or automatic trans. The only thing I would think is that where it's riveted, if the rivets are loose that would be a concern? Please let me know what you find out. Sorry, RICK
