Honda Repair: 87 accord lxi clutch - repair-tighten cable, witch way, knurled knob

Any advise or help would be a godsend. I can't afford to bring it to the shop. Have never done a clutch. Would like to try to tighten cable first to see if this helps. I can see where it is but do not know witch way to tighten and how to make sure it's not too much.

To adjust the cable you will need to locate the knurled knob at the top of the bracket to adjust the freeplay. Turn knob counterclockwise to increase freeplay and clockwise to decrease it. The amount of freeplay you should have is 13/64 to 1/4 inch. Hope this helps and good luck.
