Honda Repair: 1987 honda accord exi, honda accord exi, throttle position sensor

Question
Hi Bill....Its me again! Sorry to bug you but I have one more question about my honda. With what I described to you before about the gas pedal being stiff on acceleration (intermittant) Do you think it is possible for the TPS (throttle position sensor) or the throttle valve cable to be faulty? Reason I ask: I took it to a tranny shop, he doesn't believe its the throttle valve. He said with 194km it is very unlikely that the valve would wear or stick so premature and he suspects the TPS. I mentioned before that the PRG-I (fuel injection warning light) came on a few times but goes off after shutting the car off. You never mentioned if my probelm may be related to that light coming on. One more thiing: Well living in  Alberta at -20 weather the last few days, the car has not acted up at all! It seems that it does not act up wen it is COLD outside? Its been 3 days and its been perfect! Is this weird or what? Anyhow, I really appreciated your help and any more that you can give me based on this new info Im telling you. Thank you soooooooooooooo much for all your help!

Answer
Mona:
No need to apologize, I hope I am of some help. Now your guy at the transmission shop may know more than I do and he may have seen more problems like this, but from what you described to me sounds like the throttle valve cable and with the cold weather the metal has shrunk up enough to keep it from sticking. The other thing is that I'm not sure your car has a TPS, the closest thing I have found is a Throttle Angle Sensor and that may be virtually the same thing. Sorry about the PRG-I, I believe the problem is related to your throttle sticking.
Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask for more info.
