Honda Repair: 91 Accord stiff shifter, filler neck, shift control

Question
I recently purchase a 91 Accord LX Coupe for cheap but it has several problems.  The automatic shifter is very stiff moving from park to drive.  According to the previous owner this is a recent development.  Also it smells badly of gas when it first starts but goes away quickly.  The fuel pump and gas tank have been replaced in the last 6mo.  Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

Answer
Tom:
You will need to check the shift control cable to make sure it is not binding and is conected correctly to the transmission.
As for the gas smell, you will need to go over the installation of the tank to make sure it was done correctly.
Check the connection from the tank to the filler neck to make sure it is good. Also check the gas cap to make sure it is getting a good seal.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
