Honda Repair: honda prelude 88, honda prelude, fuel filter

Question
I recently had the alternator rebuilt, and recently I have noticed my car when starting, it sputters and stalls until I rev the engine for a few moments then while running it is fine, also I recently got the Prelude out of the shop and noticed the warning ring for the lights on/door open etc is sounding like it is running out of power, the battery seems fine and is fairly new, any suggestions

Answer
Rick:
My guess is that you have a couple of different problems that are not related to the rebuilt alternator. The sputtering when cold could be a general tune-up type of thing. Check spark plugs, wires, rotor and fuel filter. You also may want to check the timing. The warning ring sounds like a wiring problem. You will need to get a wiring diagram and trace the wires and look for an open circuit.
Hope this helps.
