Honda Repair: 00 Civic Si starter, stock honda, alarm starter

Question
Hey bill,

I'm pretty sure its the starter that's the issue, but to ease my mind I figured I would ask.

00 civic si, very well taken care of (we show the car)

Went to start the car, got a one click each time we tried to turn it over. Figured it was the batt.  (optima yellow top) Put the batt on a charger for 4 hours (says fully charged), checked all cables from batt to starer, ground, etc. Tired to start, now its getting very fast clicks.  Checked the voltage on the batt while having someone try starting it, never dropped down past 12.32v.  Still clicking fast.  Changed the batt to the stock honda batt (our testing batt), still clicking fast.  No belts are moving, doesn't seem to be engaging the engine at all.  I'd bet my dog's left paw that it's the starter on this one, but I'd like your opinion as well.

The only thing that I'm not sure about at all is alarm starter kills.  We have a viper 5000 alarm (its got everything you can think of) and it seems to be operating normally, but I'm not sure how the starter would act if for some reason the alarm isn't disabling the starter kill.

Please advise.

I'm betting on the starter too. Check the voltage at the starter when the key is turned to make sure you are getting current. The other thing that you can do is tap on the starter while turning the key to see if you can get it to engage.
Good luck.
