Just purchased a 1988 Honda Civic DX...where is the fuel pump located? Best way of taking it off and replacing?  THanks

The fuel pump is located under vehicle, center, below trunk area, mounted in fuel tank. To replace, open the trunk and pull back the carpeting and pry off the left maintenance access cover from the floor of the trunk. From there you will be able to remove lines, connector and mounting nuts. You may have to lower the tank slightly to get it out. To lower you need to support the tank and loosen the tank straps.
