Honda Repair: Honda Accord 91 will not start ; no electric power, alignment problem, power locks

Question
After driving the car, parking it, turning off the engine, and pulling the key out, car will not start again.  Never happened ever before but twice already after replacing battery and spark plugs and spark plug wires.

After turning off engine and pulling the ignition key out, the passive seat belt will not release; the power locks will not unlock.  Inserting back the key and turning the ignition does not produce any dash lights.  Power is completely out; no headlights, nothing.  Power does come back 7-10 minutes later and the car will start.  Same scenario for the 2 times that has happened.

Battery was purchased about a week ago, the spark plugs and wires also.  The wire contacts to the battery are a bit corroded.  The battery was replaced in the rain so there was no time to clean the contacts.  Contacts are secured tight.  Will cleaning more help?  Is there such a thing as a type of grease compound to enhance conduction between the contacts and the battery?  Sorry, all I know is how to change the oil.

This problem has not happened before.  Car has 187K on it.  A little alignment problem currently but electric power was fine throughout these years until now.  Thank you.

Answer
Alex:
I would start with really cleaning the corroded contacts. You can use a solution of baking soda and water to clean the corrosion. If the cables are real bad you may want to replace. I always put grease on the top of the terminal and on the cable end to keep from corrosion.
Good luck.
