Honda Repair: 91 honda civic lx, crank sensor, gravity switch


Question
i have no spark i replaced the whole distributor with one off a runing car. i called honda they said maybe the ecu or the main relay checked both they are both fine. i checked the wires all the way from the distributor to the fuse box and ecu. there fine.>>>>? i have no more ideas?

Some distributors that drive the oil pump will cease to function if the oil pump drive pin is sheared. My guess is something else is shutting off the spark, maybe the oil pressure sensor, or, the fuel pump ( most have a gravity switch which will shut down the pump and ignition, if the car is seriously out of position ( as in upside down). I have seen the switch stick when going over a hard bump and shut the car down.). Could be the crank sensor, which detects if the engine is actually turning ( this also shuts down ignition and fuel.).
