Steering Column Repair: 67 Grand prix tilt column repair., tilt column, shift model

Question
I have a 67 Grand prix tilt column, floor shift model, that has broken where the tilt lock lever threads into the column. I have taken the unit out of the car,and have removed the horn and signal hardware. I have removed the nut, and the inner bearing race. How do I remove the rest of the internal components, or the outer cover to gain access to the part I need to replace?

Answer
Hi Marty:
This one is a little old for me to remember, but I think it's still a saginaw column.  If it's the same, we have recently uploaded some videos on our company website to give you first hand viewing of how to remove, disassemble, and reassemble the tilt column you are talking about. They are broken down into step by step 2-3 minute detailed videos with instructions. Although the videos are for a Chevrolet truck, the column is very similar to yours.

I hope these videos help you.  If not, please contact me again for more information.
Lastly, if you need parts to repair this column simply email us on our "Contact Us / Order Parts" page and we will get back in touch with you personally.

Good luck

Doug
