Honda Repair: 96 civic hatchback brakes, metric sockets, rear shoes

Question
Hi, thank you for your time...I have to change my front disk on my 96 civic.

What do I need to know before I start the process...

...I know I will have to change the pads also...but do I need special tools to take the disk off and to put the new one back...

...Is it something that i should do myself...I don't have much mechanical knowledge....but I'd like to give it a try...

...Another thing, should I change my drums pads also...

...what are the adjustments I will have to do when everything is done....

thank you...

Answer
Ok to change the front pads You will need some metric sockets and c clamp 12in. The pads are easy. Do you  need to turn the rotors or resurface the rotors? It takes a little more work to do this. You might need to have someone with some experience to help. The rear shoes can be replace if needed. If you have not done any shoes before you need to leave them alone. It is all easy but have someone show you the first time. good luck
