Hyundai Repair: leak in radiator, coolant water, coolant temperature

Question
HELLO, FIRST LET ME SAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME!
OK I HAVE A GREAT 98 HYUNDAI 4.0 SONATA GL. BUT, IT IS AFTERALL A 98! IT'S JUST ABOUT TO HIT THE 100,000 MILE MARK TOO. AND NOW I JUST FOUND OUT LAST WEEK THAT THE RADIATOR IS CRACKED. PRIOR TO THIS I HAVE BEEN ADDING ANTIFREEZE AND WATER TO IT EVERY FEW DAYS. WELL, I HAD ORIGINALLY PLANNED ON TRADING IT IN NOW. BUT LAST WEEK I HAD A DENTAL EMERGENCY COME UP AND THAT SORT OF RUINED MY PLANS SO MY QUESTION IS THIS. I NEED TO KEEP IT GOING ATLEAST 1-2 MORE MONTHS. WILL IT HURT ANYTHING IF I KEEP ADDING WATER AND ANTIFREEZE AND OBVIOUSLY DON'T LET IT GET NEAR THE ORANGE? (I ONLY DRIVE ABOUT 5 MILES A DAY) OR SHOULD I USE THAT STOP LEAK STUFF AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS...SINCE I HOPE TO TRADE IT IN ANYWAY? I HAVE HEARD PRO AND CON ON THE STOP LEAK STUFF. I AM BLESSED TO BE CLOSE TO WORK AND STORE ETC. BUT OTHERWISE I HAVE BEEN A PRISONER AT HOME AND IT WOULD BE NICE TO ATLEAST MAKE IT TO ONE MORE PLACE DURING THE WEEK ADDING A FEW MORE MILES TO MY TRIP IF I CAN KEEP IT MAINTAINED. SO I DIDN'T KNOW IF IT WOULD BE OK TO DRIVE AROUND A FEW MORE MILES ON IT IF I DON'T DO ANYTHING TO IT.WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Answer
As long as you do not allow the vehicle to overheat, there's no problem with continuing to drive it.  Be aware, however, that if the coolant becomes low enough that the coolant temperature sender is not immersed in coolant, your temperature gauge may not properly indicate when the engine is indeed overheating.  Also be aware, as you have most likely already discovered, that these types of leaks tend to become worse over time; so be very mindful of your situation and be prepared for a sudden loss of coolant should that occur.

Otherwise, carry plenty of coolant/water with you and cross your fingers.  As long as you can keep the coolant filled, you should expect no other adverse problems.  Do not use stop leak, as this may make your problem worse by potentially clogging the small tubes in the radiator.  It won't be very effective against a crack in the plastic tank of the radiator.  (It may, however, do a reasonable job of sealing small pinholes in the aluminum portion of the radiator).
