Hyundai Repair: hyundai sonata heater blower?

Question
my mother just got back from camping and her heater started to make a fast thumping noise when she turned it on high and a bad smell came out. we're not sure how to get the 'heater blower' off. (that's what my dad called it) i would like to know how to get it apart to take a look at it and see if it actually is an animal, or if my mother would need to take it to the shop.

Answer
Usually, the blower motor can simply be removed from the blower case by removing the three phillips screws that hold it in the bottom of the case.  Then drop the assembly out of the bottom of the case.  Depending on the year of the Sonata, there may be some wiring to move out of the way, and you may need to pull the carpet and padding back to get more room below the heater case.

Based on your description, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a dead mouse or something inside.
