Hyundai Repair: 2001 Hyundai Accent code, hyundai accent, engine control module ecm

Question
We just had a computer check done at an Automotive retail store and the code came back P1401.  they were unable to help us any futher, can you tell us what this may be?

Answer
P1401 indicates that the current measured in the engine control module (ECM) for the evaporative leak detection pump motor circuit is higher or lower than expected.  Presuming you don't also have a code P1402 (which would indicate an open or short circuit), it's a reasonable conclusion that the circuit is intact, meaning that the problem is almost certainly with the leak detection pump itself.
