Hyundai Repair: Hyundai power steering fluid, hyundai santa fe, automatic transmission fluid

Hi there, I'm changing my power steering fluid in my 2008 hyundai santa fe and the owners manual states to use PSF-4. Is it possible to substitute ATF-4 (automatic transmission fluid) in its place? If not, can you recommend another PSF or ATF that would qualify. Thank you

Hi, Pat.  Do not use ATF in this power steering system.  If you'd rather not use the Hyundai fluid, the closest substitute will be the generic power steering fluid that you can purchase at your local parts store.  I've had no issues using generic fluid in this system.
