Hyundai Repair: brakes, correct positions, shims

Question
Replaces front pads and rotors and now hear occasional grinding noise.  could it be the disc brake caliber pad cover on outside pad or large ware indicator on inboard pad???  Any suggestions.  May be dragging when turn

Answer
Hi, Paul.  Sometimes, during brake servicing, the sheet metal backing plate inadvertently gets bent enough to touch the rotor, causing a grinding or scraping noise, sometimes intermittent and aggravated in turns.

Also check to see whether the pads were installed in the correct positions as well as whether the pad shims may be rubbing the rotor.  The pads with the wear indicators should be inboard, and the pads without should be outboard.
