Hyundai Repair: oil presure elantra 2000, oil flow, lifters

my question is  i want to know how much oil pressure  this car have to have i put an oil presure gage and the reading is 22 pouds  and stedy but the lifters are not charging i pul them aut tok then apart and cleathem up  there stil doing the same

The following answer presumes you have a 1.6L, 1.8L, or 2.0L beta engine in your Elantra.  If you have a different engine, the information below may not be accurate.  

You should have 24 PSI at idle at operating temperature.  22 is close enough to this that it's safe to assume you don't have a problem with oil pressure at idle.  

It troubles me that you indicate you disassembled the lifters.  This may render them inoperative.

Often, lifters require a significant amount of operation at idle to pump up.  The higher the engine RPM, the greater your oil pressure will be.  Often, a drive of a few miles with the engine kept at high rpm will pump up the lifters.

You may have blocked oil passages.  In engines where the oil was changed infrequently, sludge can accumulate in the oil passages, restricting or preventing the oil flow to the lifters.
