Hyundai Repair: 2006 Sonata turn key sometimes and nothing happens, car beeps, fuse block

Question
Hello...recently this is happening more often.  I will put the key in the ignition, turn the key to start, and nothing happens with the engine...no clicking or anything.  The car beeps and all dash lights, radio, air, etc are fine with the key inserted but nothing from the engine when turning the key.  After turning the key about 10 times, the car finally starts like normal.  The car acts like it does when trying to start the car when it is not in Park or Neutral.  This doesn't happen every time I try to start the car but it is getting more frequent.  There are also no lights that stay lit on the dash such as Check Engine, etc.  What could be the issue?  Thanks

Answer
Presuming the battery is okay-- and this is just a presumption at this point since the starter draws more current than anything else on the vehicle, so other items operating doesn't necessarily indicate the battery is okay-- you could have the one of the following issues:

The range switch on the transmission could be defective or out of adjustment.  If you use the shift override to shift to neutral and the car will then start, expect that this is the issue.

Loose, corroded, or defective battery cable.  Either cable could be loose or making poor contact at either end.

Defective burglar alarm relay (part of dash fuse block).

Defective starter.

Defective start relay in underhood fuse box.
