Hyundai Repair: 2001 tiburon fuel pump doesnt turn on with the key, fuel pump relay, fuse block

Question
I blew my number 1 piston and rod, rebuilt the motor and now are having fuel problems, everything is hooked up correctly, its just when i put the key in and turn it, my fuel pump does not come on ( as another guy said " it'll run with 2 wires ran directly to it, but wont run by the key.") injectors are getting power, i can hear relays clicking under the dash, it turns over fine, just wont run, unless power is manually attached to the pump.  i hope you can help thanks  Brandon

Answer
The fuel pump is controlled by a relay controlled by the ECM.

1.  Does the check engine lamp illuminate when the ignition is turned to the on position?  If not, the ECM is not turning on.

2.  Check at the fuel pump connector to see whether you're missing power or ground.  If you're missing ground, check the ground wire.

Presuming you're missing power, proceed as follows:
3.  Check the slow blow fuses in the underhood fuse block.
4.  Check the fuel pump relay.
