Hyundai Repair: Belt replacement, alternator belt, splash guard

Question
2004 Elantra 4 cyl. 75K . A/C belt shows small cracks in ribs. Will replace soon. P/S belt and alt. belt must be removed first. Dont look real hard. But does A/C belt have tensioner to be accessed thru wheel well plastic cover ? Thanks for answer.

Answer
Yes.  You'll need to remove the engine splash guard behind the right wheel.  A 14mm nut locks the tensioner in place and a 12mm bolt adjusts the tension.

You will need to remove the alternator belt to replace the A/C belt, but if that's all you're replacing, the power steering belt can remain in place.
