Hyundai Repair: 1997 Hyundai Accent DOHC no start, engine cranks, paint expert

Question
I was driving on the highway and suddenly lost power with no other symptoms except for a dead engine. I pulled over to the side and tried to start it. The engine cranks but it won't turn over. Some of my friends said that it is possibly the fuel pump. Others say it's the ignition. How can I tell if it is one or the other?

Answer
hi ed, that is the 64 million dollar question that has been plaguing the drivers of the automobile since henry ford and henri' chevrolet first started selling these contraptions. If you disconnect the coil wire and hold onto it with bare hand and let someone turn over the engine and an electric shock knocks the shit out of you maybe even breaking your teeth then you are probably out of gas. If you pull off your fuel line and crank it over while you watch gasoline spray over your hot engine and possibly ignite, call the fire department: you didn't have a fuel pump problem.  It could be other shit wrong too.  I hired onto this website as an auto paint expert.  i do not know why folks keep asking me mechanic questions. did you read my bio at all? I would hire a real mechanic... it might save you more money in the long run.
