This Code is showing that the main control relay of the transmission is stuck on. When that happens transmission goes in to the fail safe mode which is being stuck in 3rd gear to prevent damage to the transmission.

its a 1999 hyundai sonata gls
i did find the fuse and it was blowen. replaced the fuse and it was fine till transmission gets hot.were is the transmission main control relay? i did find the 2 speed sensors. do you think i should replace the speed sensor with the transmission main control relay at the same time? i do work on cars part time but have never delt with this before.any & all help would be nice.

AnswerHello Jerry,
Do not replace the speed sensors yet. We need to fix relay problem first. A/T main relay is located behind the center console. It is lower/ left side of the console. You can reach it from driver's side. Take small plastic cover out on the right side of the accelerator pedal. You will see a black relay secured to the floor. Replace it and then test drive to see if any other problems present.
