Hyundai Repair: 02 Elantra keeps acting like it is out of gas, fuel filter, fuel pressure

my elantra (56000 miles) sometimes loses power when i have been driving at 75 with ac on, but only if i slow down for some reason. it acts like it is out of gas except it doesnt die and within 10 to 30 seconds it regains power. i have noticed it does this mostly when the ac is on but much more often if i am below 1/2 tank of fuel. most opinions say change fuel filter, does this seem to be a probable fix?

I am assuming that no check engine light is on.It sounds like you have a fuel pressure problem. Either your fuel pump is giving up or your fuel filter is partially clogged. Changing filter is a good way to start. Filter is in the tank attached to fuel pump. So while replacing the filter, fuel pump should be inspected.
