Hyundai Repair: Front and Rear rotor replacement on a 1997 Tiburon, rear rotors, phillips screws

Question
I need to replace the front and rear rotors on 1997 Tiburon. How to remove the front and rear?

Answer
Replacing the front rotors will require removing the calipers and the wheel hub assemblies.  You'll need a slide hammer or hub puller tool to remove the front wheel hub.  Often, when the hub is removed, the bearing pulls apart, damaging the bearing.  You should count on replacing the front hub bearings as well.

To replace the rear rotors, you'll need to remove the calipers from the knuckles.  Once you have the calipers removed and have removed the one or two Phillips screws (if present) attaching the rotors to the hubs, the rear rotors should slide off the hubs.  If they won't come loose, it may take a couple whacks with a hammer to break them loose.  You'll also want to have handy a tool to screw in the rear caliper pistions.  Even if not replacing the pads, it's likely you'll need to compress the calipers a little to accomodate the new rotors, which are likely to be a little thicker than the old ones.
