Hyundai Repair: alignment, big o tires, steering wheel

Question
I just bought a 2002 elantra, the car was pulling to theleft, i went to big o tires, and got the alignment done, but the car still pulled to the left, when i brought it back in a few days later, they told me it was because a tire was ovewr inflated, it is still pulling to the left.
I have noticed that the idle seems rough also, could that be from the gas? thank you

Answer
Pulling means that the car tends to actually turn the wheel and steer in one direction or the other when the wheel is released.  This is typically caused by a difference in rolling resistance of the front tires.  You might try swapping your front tires to see if the condition goes away or changes to pull in the opposite direction.

A common problem often reported as pulling is when the car will steer in one direction despite the steering wheel being centered.  This is an issue with steering wheel centering, and could also be caused by improper alignment.

While a rough idle could be caused by a fuel problem, it's likely that a fuel problem will also cause you to have many other symptoms.  There are many things that can cause a rough idle, and in some circumstances the issue could be normal.  Without having a good idea of the frequency of the roughness and how the roughness is felt, I'm left at a loss as to whether there's a problem and what could be causing it.  At this point, the possibilities are to great for me to hazard a guess.  If your check engine lamp is on, you should start by reading the stored diagnostic trouble codes.
