Hyundai Repair: 2002 Sonata blower motor noise, motor noise, blower motor

Question
I have a 2002 sonata with about 150,000 miles.  Today the blower motor started to make noise.  It did seem to be blowing though.  It may have been weak on thrust but enough to cool the car w/ A/C.  The sound is like heavy Bass from a speaker...like a moan/humm.  There is no smell.  There is no difference in noise if the A/C is on or off.  No difference if on Cool or Hot.  I know on old cars you could get debris in the blower.  Does this sound like a bad motor?   If so, are they hard to replace.  I'm pretty mechanically inclined.  Also, the noise is progressivly worse as the fan speed is increased.

Answer
Most likely, you've got debris in the blower.  It's not too bad to remove.  You'll need to remove the under cover (if there is one) from the right side of the dash, and remove the three screws holding the blower in the blower box.  You'll probably need to move some wiring out of the way.  You may also need to pull the carpet back to get enough room to get the blower out.
