Hyundai Repair: Removing Surge Tank to change spark plugs, air intake hose, surge tank

Question
I have a 2001 Santa Fe, 2.7L, and want to change the spark plugs.  To get at the back 3 plugs the Surge Tank has to be removed.  Any tips or recommendations based upon your experience would be appreciated.  Thanks for all your help.

Answer
Remove the top of the air box, the air intake sensor, and the air intake hose.

Unplug and unhook the electrical connectors for anything attached to the surge tank.

Remove the vacuum hose from the intake and the PCV hose from the pcv valve.

Unbolt the throttle cable and purge valve brackets from the surge tank.  Unhook the cables from the throttle.  Remove the ground wire.

Remove the 7 bolts/nuts attaching the surge tank to the manifold, and the 3 bolts in the rear of the surge tank attaching it to the support brackets.

Leaving the coolant hoses attached, lift the surge tank off the manifold and rotate the passenger side up, standing it up sideways.  This will prevent you from needing to service the cooling system.

Cover the intake holes to prevent foreign material from dropping into the engine.

On reinstallation, start all bolts prior to tightening any.  Tighten first the bolts attaching the plenum to the intake.  Work from the center out toward the ends.  Only after tightening these bolts, tighten the rear three bolts.
