Hyundai Repair: transaxle leak, shaft seal, input shaft

Question
i just replaced clutch in 2001 hyundia sante fe  now i have what appears to be trans. lube leaking from bottom of bell housing. not alot but enough to drip a space of about 4-5 inces in circumfrence on driveway. has 96,000 miles on it.   4-cylinder engine.

Answer
You'll need to have a look around and see where the leak is originating.  The bottom of the bell housing is the lowest point on the transmission, so oil usually drips from there.

If it's originating from an axle seal, it's not too bad an endeavor to pull the axle out and replace the seal.  This is the most common leak after transaxle removal and reinstallation, since it's possible you've cut the seal when removing/installing the axle.

If the oil is originating from inside the bell-housing, it's either coming from the input shaft seal inside the transmission or the rear main seal of the engine.
