Hyundai Repair: 2001 hyundai sonata, hyundai sonata, dirty fuel

Question
I just bought a sonata gls. The problem is about two days ago when i was driving and the car was not picking up any speed and  seemed to want to stall after i dove it around the block it was diving just fine. Yesterday the car started up just fine but after turning my wheel it stalled and it took me about four times to get it to turn over and start. I got the car about a block down the road and it stalled again and it took a while for it to start again. Once the car started running again it drove just fine. A friend said i need to put some fuel injection cleaner in the tank. I just don't Know if there is something more serious and what type of cleaner should i use?

Answer
I don't think I'd start with the fuel injector cleaner.  First, I've never seen these cleaners make any noticeable difference.  Second, your problem doesn't sound like a dirty fuel injector issue.

There are some things I'd like to know, however:
1.  Is your check engine lamp on or flashing?
2.  When the car doesn't start, does the starter turn the engine?  If so, does the engine turn fast, slow, or normally?
3.  Which engine do you have in your Sonata?  Your choices are the 2.5L V6 and the 2.4L four cylinder.
4.  Do you have automatic or manual transmission?
