Hyundai Repair: power window repair, hyundai santa fe, splash plastic

Question
My windows on my 2002 hyundai santa fe is off line and will not raise or lower properly.

Answer
The most frequent issue with Santa Fe windows is that one or more of the bolts attaching the window to the regulator comes out.  When this occurs, only the front or rear half of the glass attempts to raise, causing the window to get cocked in the opening.  To correct the matter, simply remove the door panel, locate the screw behind the splash plastic or in the bottom of the door, properly align the window, and reinstall the bolt(s), making sure both are tight.  Sometimes the plastic piece that attaches to the window for the bolt to screw into gets knocked off the window.  If this has occurred, you'll also need to take it out of the bottom of the door and reattach it to the window.
