Hyundai Repair: 2000 Hyundai Elantra losing power uphill, hyundai elantra, 2000 hyundai elantra

Question
My 2000 Hyundai Elantra has no power at all going uphill. Was recently tuned up, with new spark plugs etc...any ideas what would be causing the power loss on hills?

Answer
Lack of power can be caused by anything that would make an engine run poorly, a problem with the transmission, or binding brakes.

If your check engine lamp is on, you should start your diagnosis by reading the trouble codes.

If your check engine lamp is not on, you should probably start by taking the car to a good driveability shop for diagnosis.  A good driveability technician will be able to narrow his search well just by feeling the problem occur.
