Hyundai Repair: 2001 Sonata Quits running, camshaft timing, exhuast

Question
01 Sonata V6 Auto   with 106K miles.. Ran fine until heard bump or noise then it stopped running at RPM over 1000. Apply pedal to it and it would not rev.. I could restart it and it runs very very rough and not over 1K rpm until it stalls soon after a restart. Towed home  try restart it did but still no rev over 1K and will not power itself...It can be restarted though but dosent want to start but starter turns it over ok... Bought this a couple months ago do not know if timing belt has been replaced.. It has no engine codes as check with my ODBII
Thanks Eric

Answer
I'd recommend starting with checking your fuel pressure and your camshaft timing.  Your symptoms are consistent with low fuel pressure or a timing belt that has slipped a few teeth.  It's also possible a piece of the catalytic converter came loose and clogged the exhuast.
