Hyundai Repair: Engine light came on, hyundai sonata 2002, mass air flow sensor

Question
I own Hyundai Sonata(2002)16v DOHC 2.4L 4cyl Automatic
I experience a problem while starting my car with cold engine. It starts up with first attempt but stops right away by itself. I've got engine check light from last 2 weeks and I got it checked by a mechanic. According to his scanner it shows mass air flow sensor fault [error code P0102]. And he replaced the sensor and air filter as well. He replaced spark plugs and wires too. He even checked the wiring in connection. But still I face the same problem.

Answer
Has the check engine lamp returned?  If so, recheck the trouble codes.

You might check the air intake hose between the air flow sensor and the throttle body for breaks.  This could cause a P0102.  Similarly, a problem in the wiring to the air flow sensor could cause a P0102.

In most cases, your best bet when the problem you were having wasn't repaired is to return to the shop that did the work and explain that you're still having the problem.  An honest and competent shop will be happy to recheck the car at no charge if they haven't repaired what they were to repair.
