Hyundai Repair: 03 hyundai tiburon rear wheel bearing, rear wheel bearings, hyundai tiburon

Question
Hey, my '03 tiburon GT V6 makes a waning noise as I increase speed, it sounds like its coming from the back, could it be the rear wheel bearings? and if so, how are they installed? does a shop have to do it? I heard there were 2 different types and that one way needs a special equipment to be done at the shop and the other type you can do yourself, do you know which these are? ive been looking everywhere online for an answer! THANK YOU!!!!

Answer
Check your tires first.  Humming noises similar to wheel bearing noises can be caused by flat spots on the tires.

The rear wheel hub is fairly simple to replace.  Simply remove the caliper and rotor, and then remove the dust cap and center hub nut.  The hub should then pull off.  The rear hub and bearing are serviced as an assembly.

The front hub bearing, however, needs to be pressed out of the knuckle to service.
