Hyundai Repair: 2005 Hyundai Elantra alarm, 2005 hyundai elantra, hyundai elantra

Question
I've only had my car for 6 weeks. Today when I hit the lock/alarm button on the "clicker" there was no "chirp" to verify the alarm was on. Is this because of a fuse? Please advise and thank you very much!

Answer
If your doors are locking and unlocking properly, there is no fuse issue.

I'm presuming you get the normal hazard lamp flash when you unlock the doors and do not get the flash when you lock them.

This would indicate that the system is not yet armed.  Typically, this is due to a bad or misadjusted door or hood switch, usually the hood switch.  To check, roll your windows down and lock the doors with the remote.  Push on each door and the hood.  If one of them makes the lamps flash to indicate arming, that's the switch with the adjustment issue.  In most cases, issues with adjustment of the hood switch can be solved by adjusting the hood height.
