Hyundai dealer said car is to old to connect to their machine. I've taken the car a few times and eventually they refused to take it any more.

check engine light is on sometimes it just stays on continuously and sometimes it blinks once per second.

thanks for the reply i am replacing the crank shaft sensor today - seems that is a common response through out the internet.

-----Question-----
i have a 94 scoupe that had a problem of shuting down for no reason (while driving) also not starting. if left alone for a while it would start -- this has worsend to acting like this almost all the time. In trying to chase the problem down - i have replaced the fuel filter - oxygen sensor - fuel pump -- when the fuel pump was changed the car ran perfectly fine and then after filling up acted up again.

As long as the car is moving you can turn the key and pop start it and you may have a few seconds of boost before the engine shuts down and you have to pop start it again.

when trying to start the car - it will turn over but not start. sometimes will start and shut down right away.

These sound like the classic symptoms of either a fuel pump or crankshaft sensor.  Since you've already replaced the fuel pump, you should probably check the crankshaft sensor.

If your check engine lamp is on, it may be well worth your money to have the dealer read the trouble codes for you.

Answer
Actually, the dealer would have been more honest if they had told you they lost the adaptor to hook into your car's data link connector and were unwilling to purchase another one.  Every Hyundai dealer should have equipment capable of checking diagnostic trouble codes on every fuel injected vehicle produced by Hyundai.  If you'd like to have a dealer check your car, I'd recommend calling Hyundai customer assistance (1-800-633-5151) and explaining your problem to them.  They should be able to locate a dealer close to you that will welcome your business and be able to check your diagnostic trouble codes.

Hopefully, the crankshaft sensor cures the problem.  If not, I think you should investigate the avenue above to find a dealer who will work on your vehicle.  I'm sorry you're having trouble with the dealer you've been visiting.
